The Adelaide University Creative Writing Program Poets invite you to their first forum for 2008, ‘Harming your career? Controversial Poetry'. It will be held at 11:00 am, Friday 18th April, in Room 140, Napier Building, North Tce, Adelaide. This is an occasional forum organised by Adelaide University poets designed to raise awareness of poetry’s relationship to other forms of writing, and is a discussion for all writers.

Friendly Street Poets will launch their New Poets 13 volume on Friday 4th April, 5.30 - 8pm, at the Atrium of the SA Writers Centre. All are welcome to drop in for a drink and a snack, and to hear a few readings from the three poets: Janine Baker, Roger Higgins and Courtney Black. For more information, follow this link.
Submissions invited for Wakefield Press anthology
Writers are invited to submit short stories and poems for a Wakefield Press anthology, Small City Tales of Strangeness and Beauty, planned to be launched in late 2008. Pieces should be unpublished, and have an Adelaide setting, reflecting the city's unique qualities.
Please send poetry to Stephen Lawrence at stephen.lawrence@adelaide.edu.au, and fiction to Gillian Britton at gillian.britton@adelaide.edu.au. Submit no more than 3000 words of fiction, or up to three poems. Submissions must be unpublished. Author payment is subject to funding. Closing date for submissions is 31 March 2008.
