Warbling
Warbling (1998)
This is the very first publication of Piping Shrike, which is an extensive showcase of UniSA budding writers. Take a ride into the creative mind of Jacinta Mooney in her comical satire 'Black Betty and the Seven Dwarfs', a modern fairytale about a group of housemates. Sal Humphries' short story 'The Rat' is sure to bring a smile. Simon Behenna's 'Nice Day for Ducks' makes you think twice about preparing 'home grown food'.

Kaleidoscope (1999)
Enjoy a fantasic selection of creative works in this second issue of Piping Shrike. Ynys Onsman's poem 'Game Boy' is a must-read that uses multilayered words to demonstrate the effect of gameboy addiction on relationships. Immerse yourself in the secret world of men with Simon Murphy's 'Observations and etiquette of the men's public toilet'. This publication serves entertainment on a silver platter and showcases the extensive creative talent of UniSA students.

Ex Nihilo
Ex Nihilo: Out of Nothing (2002)
The Professional and Creative Communication program at the University of South Australia continues its impressive Piping Shrike series of student writings with Ex Nihilo: out of nothing. Enjoy the stories and poems of these talented students, the professionalism of these works will impress you. The minimilist work of Tyson Namow in 'Lost Play' is a must-read. Christopher Howland's wonderful poem 'Happy Fools' turns you inside-out with its prophetic illusions of actual reality. Enjoy this edition of Piping Shrike.

Chrysalis
Chrysalis (2003)
Fourth in the series, this publication has a chilling atmosphere, the cover announcing dark emergings. Inside, however, this book shines bright as another example of intriguing student writing. This book, divided into the sections of origin, incubation and eruption, reflects the stages of an emerging butterfly. We take our hats off to the editors of this project who carefully selected the pieces to reflect these cycles.

The Green Room
The green room (2004)
UniSA really delivers on creative talent with this publication of Piping Shrike. Within its pages it holds lovely poetry and prose such as Margaret Bishop's 'Perfect', a personal moment held in time. Lisa Solomon expresses true love in 'Abberation'. Our very own Megan Boyd appears in this edition of Piping Shrike&emdash;'The Elephant Sits' makes us ponder about family communication.

Evolution (2006)
This eyecatching book designed by UniSA student and artist Margaret Bishop is the most recent publication under the Piping Shrike banner. Take a journey through the chapters which in themselves tell a story. The works of Fleur Lewis certainly stand out with her use of sparse, yet visual words and Elise Kuchel perfectly describes her love for her musical instrument in 6 strings. Beautiful work ... .
