Two long years in the making, Piping Shrike's sixth publication, Evolution, was finally launched on 19 October 2006 at the SA Writers' Centre.

A great, supportive turnout included students and staff from the School of Communication as well as from the University of Adelaide.

Dr Ioana Petrescu hosted the book launch. She assisted the editing team with the publication of Evolution.

Professor Kerry Green, Head of the School of Communication, launched Evolution.
In his speech, Professor Green said that Evolution is a message to publishers that 'our writers can really write' and proclaims it as 'a wonderful achievement' for the school. He further said that the book is 'witty, well wordsmithed, engaging and confronting'.

Cameron Fuller reads his poem 'You know you're getting older...'.
